University College Announces Summer/Fall Education Courses

Educators and students at all levels seeking courses toward teacher certification or re-certification will find a rich selection at University College this summer and fall. Courses are taught by University of Maine System faculty at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Students may choose from courses taught on-site at the center, online, and via interactive television at centers and at sites statewide. The schedule includes courses such as Response to Intervention Methods for General and Special Education, and Working with Families of Students with Disabilities. Courses in special education, early childhood education, elementary and secondary education, and telecommunications are also part of the schedule.

“It is important that courses for teacher certification are available in local communities, and we are pleased to be able to offer so many at our center,” said Chris LeGore, Director of Distance Education for the University of Maine System. “These courses are not only convenient, they provide access to the same experienced faculty enjoyed by students on campus.”

Registration for summer session courses and for some fall semester courses has begun. For more information, contact University College at 1-800-868-7000.
