- Inform us of additions to course description

- Notify Karen Proulx (kproulx@maine.edu) of any additions to your course description. Examples are: requirements for synchronous interaction in online courses, course-related travel requirements such as on-site workshops, proctored exams in online courses, travel to a center to use specialized software, etc. This information must be included in our statewide course guide so students are aware of these requirements before registering for a course.
- Notify Karen as well, if you want to produce DVDs for students to
purchase and view in your asynchronous course.

- Submit Faculty Policies
|
- Faculty who are new to distance education must submit faculty policies by going to http://www.learn.maine.edu/faculty/forms/FacPolicies.php
- Returning faculty should go to http://www.learn.maine.edu/edservices/facultypolicydirectory.php to review their published policies; let Karen Proulx know of any changes.

- Order Textbooks
|
- Go to http://www.learn.maine.edu/faculty/forms/bookrequest.php to place text orders online. Copies of online text orders will be forwarded to your campus bookstore for local students and the UMA bookstore (1-800-621-0083, www.umabookstore.com) for distant students.

- Submit materials for copyright clearance
|
- Any copyrighted materials; including but not limited to articles, drawings, CDs, DVDs, must go through a clearance process before they may be copied, broadcast or posted. Submit legally-purchased originals of broadcast media (CD, DVD, videotape, audiotape, etc.) or clean copies of print media to Karen Proulx.

- Submit coursepack or syllabus
|
- Coursepacks greater than 20 pages and/or containing copyright-protected material will be copied and made available to your local students at your local campus bookstore and your distant students through the UMA bookstore. Click here for tips on creating coursepacks . Syllabi of less than 20 pages should be distributed as handouts in ITV or compressed video courses or posted online to your course website.
- If you will be posting a course schedule/syllabus exclusively to a course website forward a file copy to Karen Proulx (kproulx@maine.edu).

- Reserve Phonebridge
|
- Optional telephone conferencing for in-class group work for single-student sites. This limited resource is available “first-come-first-served.” For more information on the use of the phone bridge http://www.learn.maine.edu/faculty/phone_bridge.php.

- Submit introductory letter (online courses only)
|
- If you would like, University College Augusta will mail an introductory letter to students registered in your online course. Click here to get some ideas on what to include in this letter
- Submit a camera-ready original to Karen Proulx

- Meet with Technician (ITV courses only)
|
- For instructors new to ITV your Distance Education Technician will contact you to set up a training. For instructors new to compressed video Glenn LeBlanc will contact you to set up a training

- Submit handouts/exams
|
- 10 days prior to student use, submit camera-ready original of handouts or exams; 7 days if you provide copies for distant students. Don’t forget to complete the proper exam policy form for each exam.

- Return graded assignments, exams, and quizzes to students

- Send them to Karen Proulx at UC-Augusta where they will be recorded and then mailed out to the distant sites within 24 business hours.

- Changes to your course
|
- If you change your course in any way e.g. postponing exams, cancelling a broadcast, starting a course late, etc. please notify Karen Proulx so we may inform staff at your distant sites. This is especially important with ITV and CV courses.
