Registration Open for Popular Human Services Courses
Maine’s public universities will offer courses and degree programs in Mental Health and Human Services at University College in the fall semester, which begins August 31. The courses will be taught online, on-site or delivered via interactive television and teleconference at centers and sites statewide.
Students can earn degrees in Mental Health and Human Services and in Rehabilitation Counseling. Certificate programs in Child and Youth Care, Human Services, Mental Health Rehabilitation, Substance Abuse Rehabilitation, and Child and Family Services also are available.
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, careers in counseling and social and human services will grow much faster than average for all occupations.
“Our Mental Health and Human Services Program prepares students for a variety of entry level professional positions in agencies and programs serving children and adults,” said Dave Samuelian , Professor of Mental Health and Human Services at the University of Maine at Augusta. “It’s expected that the availability of these positions will remain strong throughout Maine into the future.”
