Introduction to Studio Art offered in Bath
For the first time in Bath, on Mondays and Thursdays from 4 to 6:30 p.m. adjunct faculty Brandon Lutterman will offer ART 100 Introduction to Studio Art, a studio course designed specifically for non-art majors who wish to have an introduction to a studio experience including an emphasis in self-expression, and an exploration of techniques in drawing, design, painting and/or printmaking.
“Art 100 will be an introduction to hands-on experiences with drawing, painting, and sculpture,” states Lutterman. “This course will cover a basic and broad range of art history. I have worked with students with a variety of artistic skills and experience and enjoy teaching people at all levels in their art education.”
Lutterman received a Master of Arts in Ceramics from Minnesota State University-Mankato and a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Kansas State University. His sculptures are currently being shown at the Boothbay Regional Art Foundation and The Gallery in Boothbay Harbor; his artwork has been exhibited at UMA’s Danforth Gallery in Augusta and at the Maine College of Art in Portland as well as numerous exhibitions in Boston, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, and Delaware.
“I have been making art including drawing, painting, sculpture and ceramics as early as I can remember. I continually strive to become a better artist and a better person through my art,” notes Lutterman. “It is the making process that truly satisfies my soul.”
Registration for this UMA course is ongoing. The course meets beginning August 31. For registration assistance call 1-800-696-2329 or 442-7736.
