The University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK) offers their RN-to-BSN program via online distance education. This program is designed for students who are already licensed as RN’s and are seeking a BSN degree. With its rural nursing focus, the RN-to-BSN program at UMFK offers a unique perspective to students. The RN-to-BSN program is designed to prepare professional nurses to meet evolving health care needs of individuals, families, and communities within a complex society. Our mission is to educate caring, competent, and professional nurses who participate in maintaining, promoting, and optimizing the ever-changing health and well-being of clients and communities.

Those courses which include a designated semester, (Fall), (Spring), (Summer), are available online for the semester indicated. Because the RN-to-BSN program is offered through distance education, students may consult with advisors by telephone, electronic mail, via online course education software, or mail. Students are required to speak with their advisor for scheduling, and course and program planning prior to registering for courses. There is a residency requirement of a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of degree credits (15 in the major) at UMFK.
