Blackboard Student Resources
University College has information and FAQ materials for those brand new to Blackboard and its a good idea to link to these resources for your students. You can link to a video primer at: http://www.learn.maine.edu/courses/orientation.php and to FAQ/Help info at: the Blackboard QuickGuide; a student guide, including an explanation of username/password conventions and login procedures.
We also maintain a practice site so students can self-enroll and explore Blackboard's features. This is under the Courses tab at the top of each Blackboard screen. Students do not need to be registered in a course to use the practice area but do need their Blackboard login and password to self-enroll in the course. Inside are screencasts on using some specific tools, a discussion board, documents, sample quizzes and other helpful tips on using Blackboard.
