How to do it - See an example

PowerPoint is a powerful presentation graphics program that allows you to incorporate text, graphical elements, clip art, and images. Faculty have used PowerPoint presentations for courses delivered in a wide variety of formats, including ITV, compressed video, videotape, streaming video, and Blackboard.

PowerPoint Template

This template is designed to help you quickly build video-compatible PowerPoint presentations. For specific formatting recommendations, see our Guidelines for Using PowerPoint with Video.

To use the template:

1. Download the template. Place your cursor on one of the links below, click the right-hand mouse button, select Save Link As... , then save the file to your own computer.

2. Locate the downloaded file, and double click to open it.

3. Under View menu, select Normal. The first slide appears.

4. Click where indicated to add a title.

5. Click where indicated to add text. Hit Enter (or Return) after each line.

6. Use the Promote and Demote arrows to adjust the "level" of text in the outline (click anywhere in the line of text you wish to promote or demote, then click Promote or Demote).

7. Use the Bullets icon to add or remove bullets. (Click anywhere within the line of text to which you want to add/remove bullets.)

8. To add a new slide, select New Slide... under the Insert menu. The default Auto Layout is for a title and text.

9. After you finish your last slide, remove the template guides. Select Master, then Slide Master under the View menu. Click anywhere on the outer yellow "safe zone" guide, then hit Delete. Select Normal under the View menu to view your slides without the template guides.
