Placement Tests
Most students are required to take a placement test before enrolling in classes. University College centers administer a computerized placement test (CPT) for prospective and current students. The test is designed to measure skills in English and mathematics, and the scores are used to determine the most appropriate placement for each student. Some students may place into college-level courses, some students may need to enroll in developmental classes.
To try a sample test, visit the University of Maine at Augusta's reading comprehension test.
