DE Director Co-Authors Book Chapter

Christine LeGore, Director of Distance Education for the University of Maine System, has co-authored a chapter in a recently-released book entitled "The Handbook of Student Affairs Administration."  The book is published by Jossey-Bass.

LeGore is employed by the University of Maine at Augusta, which administers University College, UMS’ distance education organization. She joined the University of Maine System in 1980 as assistant professor of mathematics. She went on to direct the UMS Thomaston Center, and became director of all off-campus centers for the university system in 1992. In 1994, LeGore was promoted to associate director of academic and student support services and then to director of education services as part of the system’s Network for Education and Technology Services, which later reorganized under the name University College. In 2006, she became director of distance education for the University of Maine System.

 

LeGore is active in distance education organizations nationwide, and served as vice chair of the student committee for the annual conference of the Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunications (WCET). She and her husband have a son and daughter and reside in Montville.
