Providing Access to Higher Education in Western Maine
Especially for WMUCC Students...
University College at Norway/South Paris is located with Central Maine Community College in the Western Maine University and Community College Center. University College is part of the University of Maine System that provides access to higher education for those who can't attend a university campus.
Through University College, the University of Maine System universities now offer 41 degrees and certificate programs and more than 200 courses at Western Maine University and Community College Center in South Paris. Courses are available on-site, online and through interactive television (ITV).
University ITV and online courses also are available at Telstar High School in Bethel.
For more information about university courses and services, please contact us at 743-9322 or 1-888-677-3377.

Our students are enrolled in both traditional on-site classes and classes made available by use of emerging technologies. Interactive television (ITV), video conferencing (VC), computer-based, videotape and telephone conferencing are some of the systems used to provide broad access to higher education.
We support students who are recent high school graduates, many of whom use the UCT as a way to start their college career close to home. The majority of our students are adults returning to school; some completing degrees started years ago, others upgrading skills and education. Many people are taking college classes for the first time.
We provide local access to college education in a supportive environment, close to home.
Welcome to our new and returning students! To help in your success, the following notes and attachments are designed to aid you, and us, in making a great experience for everyone.
Sign-In/Mail Folders. Please come to the front desk each time you come to class to sign attendance sheets and to pick up any returned homework, tests, or other information sent to you by your instructor.
Resource Room. The resource room is located on the first floor and has several study carrels, a computer cluster, and comfortable seating for you to use. We like to keep that room fairly quiet for students who are studying or viewing classes.
Smoking Policy. The building and the surrounding parking lot belong to SAD 17 and the town of South Paris. School policy prohibits smoking on any part of the campus, including the parking lot and lawn areas. Smokers, please honor this policy. We thank you for doing so.
Lost and Found. Items of all kinds are found in the building every semester. Some of them are never claimed. Let us know if you have lost or left something behind, or want to report something found.
Work-study/Volunteer Workers. If you have been awarded financial aid for work-study and want a job or would like to volunteer in the building, please see Nikki Abbott.
Be Green - Save a Tree!
Please help us reduce costs and save a tree or two.The cost of toner and paper for the printers is paid for through the Center’s budget. Your support will help us avoid the need to institute a per page printing fee. Please limit your use of the lab printer to University related print jobs. (This means you’ll have to go to Staples to print that garage sale flier). Here are a few sample tips that will help you save money (and the planet) at the Center and at home:
