Tutoring at University College
Academic tutoring in mathematics, reading and writing is available at all University College Centers. Tutoring is intended to supplement classroom instruction; it is not a substitute for regular attendance and participation in your classes.

Tutoring is also available to University of Maine at Augusta distance education students via technologies. Staff from University of Maine at Augusta Learning Support Services have posted hours they will be available for Phone-in Tutoring in various subjects plus E-mail Tutoring for writing papers. These services are available to University of Maine at Augusta distance education students only, in courses taught away from the Augusta campus.
You may call the tutoring lab with questions for the tutors on duty. Help is available in Biology, Business, Chemistry, Computer Information Science, Math, Social Science Research, and Writing. For tutoring, call 1-877-1234, ext. 3082, (in-state) or (207) 621-3082.
You can also e-mail a writing tutor at writingtutor@maine.edu for assistance in writing papers. You are asked to include the following information in your e-mails: your name and last four digits of your student identification number; the course you are taking, instructor, campus, handbook; the assignment, including due date and length required; subject of paper, intended audience, purpose of paper; the type of help you want from the writing tutor; and a first draft of the paper for comments if available. This writing lab is only available Monday through Friday and you need to allow at least two workdays for a response from the writing tutor.
